Obituary for Everett "Junior" W. Mays

Everett “Junior” W. Mays, 86, passed away on October 11, 2017 at Methodist Hospital.  He was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Everett and Dora Mays on December 08, 1930.  He was a member of Henderson Church of Christ where he was a former Elder.  Everett was retired dispatcher with PB & S Chemical for 38 years, a Korean War Navy veteran.  He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, Leroy, Buddy, Terry and Tom.  He is survived by Odie (Abell) Mays, devoted loving wife of 63 years; 3 daughters, Deborah (William) Newman, Lisa (Noble) Jones, Kay Marie (Michael) Cook all of Henderson, KY; 1 sister Jean (Mitch) Key of Bloomfield,KY and 1 brother Ernest “Buck” (Peggy) Mays of Henderson, KY; Half-brothers and sisters, Jenny, Mary Jane, Janet, Marvin and Robert; 9 Grandchildren Jessica Griffith, Joe Newman, Matthew Newman, Christopher Newman, Lindsey Jones, Grant Jones, Amy Jones, Lt. Commander Adam Turpin and Amanda Turpin; 8 Great Grandchildren Caitlin Tinsley, Michelle Tinsley, Christian Newman, Sophie Newman, Anorah Newman, Jonas Newman, Alissa Marie McLevain and Teodor Turpin; nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, October 16, 2017 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.  Brother Gary Puryear will officiate.  Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Joe Newman, Matthew Newman, Christopher Newman, Grant Jones, Lt. Commander Adam Turpin and Robert Dixon.  Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made at www.tomblinsonfuneralhome.com
