Sue Gene (Coil) Brooks, 87 formerly of Slaughters, KY passed away at 2:05 Am Thursday January 24, 2013 at NHC Nursing Home in Madisonville, KY.
She was born in Hopkins County, KY on January 6, 1926 to the late Bradley and Korinne (Utley) Coil
.
She was an artist and was known for her paintings of building in the area. She was also a Methodist.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Duane Brooks.
She is survived by 4 children; Melanie (Moore) Rogers and husband Harris of Redwood Shores, CA
Brad Moore and wife (Kay) of Slaughters, KY
Karen (Brooks) Brown and husband Gary of Lisman, KY
Kathy (Brooks) Hawkins and husband Bill of Madisonville, KY
Sister; Barbara Bowles and husband Bobby of Louisville, KY
Grandchildren; Alison Moore, Aaron Moore, Daniel Brown, Jenny McNaughton, Brook Throgmorton, and Andrea Whitehead.
Great Grandchildren; Hailey and Hunter McNaughton, Lauren Throgmorton, Alex and Max Whitehead.
3 Nieces also survive.
Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday January 27, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel. Pastor Jay Shuck will officiate.
Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
