Delora Martine Gates

Delora Martine (Sweeney) Gates, 89 of Hanson, KY passed away Thursday July 10, 2025 at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville.

She was born in Muhlenberg County, KY on February 9, 1936 to the late Walton and Lucille (Mayes) Sweeney.

Delora was a member of Sebree Church of Christ and was owner and bookkeeper of Gates Body Shop in Hanson for 56 Years. She loved gardening.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband J. C. Gates in 2016 and a brother, Jarold Sweeney.

She is survived by one son, Danny Gates and wife Karren of Hanson, KY

4 Grandchildren; Tina Robinson and husband Elvis of Clay, KY

Randy Gates and wife Hillary of Hanson, KY

Jennifer Pruitt and husband Josh of Hanson, KY

Angie Combs and husband Jamal of Hanson, KY

9 Great grandchildren; Lucas, Maya and Xavier Robinson, Callie and Hannah Gates, Ellie, Sadie

and Asher Pruitt and Nolan Combs.

Services will be Private.

Burial will be in Hanson Cemetery.
