Katelyn Harper Gibson

Katelyn Harper Gibson was born in Nashville, TN at Vanderbilt Medical Center on November 3, 2008. Shortly after birth, Katelyn’s heart became a mended little heart as she conquered her CHD (Congenital Heart Defect). She never allowed anything to slow her down or stand in her way. She made the most of every moment she was given during her unfairly shortened stay here with us.

Humans and animals alike were drawn to Katelyn’s confident and sassy demeanor. She discovered her love of horses at an early age purely by accident. After finding her passion, she fully immersed herself in their world and aspired to be an equine veterinarian so she could forever help the ones she loved most. Never afraid to take charge of a tough situation or help others, Katelyn shined brightest as an expert problem solver and an eager volunteer. She loved books, her family, her friends, Legos and fast cars. She spent countless hours at her happy place, Blue Moon Stables, with her heart horse, Pinocchio.

Katelyn left this Earth the same place she entered it on September 10, 2024 after an all too brief 15 year stay. While she will be greatly missed by all of us here, we can confidently say that Katelyn loved the way she spent her days.

She leaves behind parents, Josh Gibson and Elizabeth Gibson; brother, Landon Gibson (13); grandparents Steve and Darla Smith, grandfather Craig Gibson; aunts Sarah Smith, Brooke (Richard) Ramsey; cousins Madeline Smith, Sadie Smith, Benjamin Ramsey and Callie Ramsey along with many extended family members and more friends than we can count.

Visitation will be held on September 13 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and September 14 from 10 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers or gifts we ask that you honor Katelyn by donating to Healing Reins of Kentucky, Henderson County FFA or your local volunteer fire department.
