Linda J. Sawyer

Linda Jean (Townsend) Sawyer, 76, of Henderson, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at home.

She was born in Slaughters on February 22, 1946 to the late William F. and Hazel L. (Foster) Townsend.

She worked at Gibbs as a custodian and loved shopping and reading.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brothers, William Townsend and Larry Townsend; and sisters, Mary D. Carter, Jeanette Carter, and Anna Greenwell.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Silas Sawyer; children, Mark Sawyer and Misty King (Albert), all of Henderson; siblings, Pam Brown of Henderson, Patricia Elliston of Texas, Terry Townsend of Henderson, and Eddie Herdink of Henderson; two grandchildren, Chase Wicker of Louisville and Macy King of Henderson.

Pallbearers will be Albert King, Chase Wicker, Bub Wilson, Scott Wilson, David Sawyer and Larry Hollerbach.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 19 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Bro. Jack Ross.

Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, December 19 from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
