Lofton Hazelwood

Lofton Hazelwood, 18 of Henderson passed away October 18, 2021. He was born June 8, 2003, in Henderson, KY to Kirk and Tracey (Givens) Hazelwood. Lofton was the baby of the family.  He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Henderson.  Lofton was a freshman at the University of Kentucky studying agriculture economics. He enjoyed being a farmhand and worked his first summer on the farm in the summer of 2020.  This past summer he worked in landscaping.  Lofton liked playing golf, hunting, fishing, going to the lake and boating. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Roy Franklin Givens. He is survived by his parents, Kirk and Tracey Hazelwood; three sisters, Logan Hazelwood of Henderson, Sydney Hazelwood of Austin, Texas and Preston Hazelwood of Henderson; paternal grandparents, Larry and Suzie Hazelwood of Henderson; maternal grandmother, Connie Thomas of Henderson; several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be 12:00 PM, Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday 2:00 PM-8:00 PM at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and 11:00 AM-12:00 PM, Saturday at the church. Father Larry McBride will officiate with burial to follow in St Louis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nate Wood, Hunter Bowling, Zach Williams, Koby Reed, Warren Hazelwood, Nick Wimber, Hugh Patrick Hazelwood, Reece Thomas, Xavier Bugg and Wesley Goldsberry. Honorary pallbearer will be Rylan Trigg. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Holy Name School Endowment Fund, 628 2nd St. Henderson, KY 42420. Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel is handling arrangements. A note from the family: Our entire family thanks you for your support during this difficult time. The local florists have said that they have had unprecedented orders, are at maximum capacity and informed us that we may need to offer another avenue for people to honor Lofton. Therefore, we have created the Lofton Hazelwood Memorial Fund with an account at Field & Main Bank.   This fund will be utilized to create scholarships for local area students in Lofton’s name.
