Norma Sue “Suzie” (Watson) Hazelwood, 84, of Henderson, passed away May 26, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, under the compassionate care of St. Anthony's Hospice.
She was born December 21, 1940, in Muhlenberg County, KY to the late Elvis B. and Mabel Watson.
Born with a gentle heart and a giving spirit, Suzie lived a life full of love, faith, and quiet strength. Suzie found joy in life’s simple pleasures—she was a talented seamstress, an avid baker, and a passionate photographer, capturing memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. But most of all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life and affectionately called her Mema.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Lofton Hazelwood.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Larry Hazelwood; three children, Kevin Hazelwood (Kristy), Kirk Hazelwood (Tracey) and Lynnell Trigg (Richard); sister, Patsy Polley (Jim); brother, Roger Watson; five grandchildren, Logan Elliott (Daniel), Sydney Painter (Theo), Preston Hazelwood, Lexie Trigg and Rylan Trigg.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday May 29, 2025, at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Bro Rick O’Daniel will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
