Thomas “Sug” McDonald, 76 of Baskett passed away Thursday May 25, 2023, at his home

Thomas was born in Henderson to the late Thomas Lawrence and Crystal (Skaggs) McDonald.

He was a devoted born again Christian, follower of Christ. He had many friends and loved ones, that he held dear to his heart. His love for Christ and his family, mixed with his weird sense of humor, caused a lot of people to be drawn to him.

He was an avid hunter; fisherman and he enjoyed Jon boating and gardening and going to fellowship at his church, Riverside Pentecostal Church.

Thomas had retired from Whirlpool after 40 plus years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Daniel McDonald, his siblings Wilson McDonald, Lawrence McDonald, Robert McDonald, and Jane Shaffer.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Elaine (Snodgrass) McDonald; his son Mark McDonald (Tasha); his daughter Melissa Anders, his siblings Tricia Scott, Jennie Scott, Lynn Surovey (Ed) and Brenda; granddaughter Misty McDonald; grandson Dylan McDonald; great grandchildren Neveah, Lyric, Brandie, Joel and Aaliyah and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday May 31, 2023, at Tomblinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Baskett Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM-8:00 PM Tuesday May 30, 2023, at the funeral home and Wednesday 9:00 AM until service time.
