Vyrdena Edwards

Vyrdena Edwards, 74, of Henderson, passed away on July 14, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

She was born in Henderson to the late Shirley and Jeannell (Jackson) Tomlingson. Vyrdena was a longtime member of Airline Baptist Church. She had a passion for crafts, especially quilting and basket weaving, and was also a talented seamstress.

She worked for many years at Sureway and later retired from the Henderson County Attorney’s Office.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband George “Joe” Edwards and her brother, Troy Tomlingson.

Vyrdena is survived by her siblings, Ronald Tomlingson (Anna), Michael Tomlingson (Alycia), and Pam Phillips (Tim), as well as her lifelong and devoted friend, Esther Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, with Brother Jeremy Aliff officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
