Agnes Gibson, 90, of Henderson, passed away peacefully Friday, March 5, 2021 at home surrounded by family. She was born in Union County on November 10,1930 to Joseph and Alice (Bickett) Dayberry. She was a life-time homemaker, working later in life at Audubon Park Campground. She was a long-time member of Holy Name Church where she taught CCD and children’s liturgy before traveling. More recently she volunteered at Holy Name School. She loved sewing, quilting, gardening, canning, dancing, and traveling. In retirement, she and her husband,Rudy, enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome and also traveled abroad. Most importantly, she loved her family with all her heart and was proud of her legacy. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 yrs, Rudy Gibson.Also preceded in death - Three brothers: Robert “Gramp” Dayberry, Joseph “Bobby” Dayberry, John “Dickie” Dayberry; one sister, Isabell “Ebell” Funkhouser; one son, Alan Dale Gibson; two daughters, Terri Shackelford and Kathy Bateman; one granddaughter, Andrea Followell; one great-grandson, Jaylin Chandler. She is survived by one sister Fannie (Ronnie) Beres of Princeton, LA; two sons, Barry (Cathy) Gibson of Joliet, IL. and Matthew (Annmarie) Gibson of Henderson,KY; one daughter, Janet (Kenny) Barkley of Henderson, KY; one daughter-in-law, Claudia Gibson of Griffin GA; one son-in-law, Larry Bateman of Leroy, IN. Grandchildren include Jason (Elvira) Gibson, Christopher (Kristi) Gibson, Derick (Shannon) Gibson, Tracy (Brian) Fahnstrom, Jaime Followell, Shane Shackelford, Dustin Shackelford, Jonathan (Lauren) Bateman, Rachel (Jay) Sonnenberg, Aaron (Nicole) Barkley, Logan (Taylor) Barkley, Hayden Powell, Courtney (Mason) Schneider, Dylan Powell, Cameron (Chloe) Gibson, Leah Guardiola, Mariah Guardiola. Great Grandchildren include Steven Gibson, Nicholas Gibson, Joseph Gibson, Madison Gibson, Jenna Gibson, Alysea Harkins, Mayson Gibson, Tristan Gibson, Lauren Fahnstrom, James Followell, Elizabeth Chandler, Eriqua “Shea” Chandler, Tyler Bateman, Rudy Sonnenberg, Sid Sonnenberg, Camden Barkley, Kensie Barkley, Hudson Barkley, and “Baby” Gibson(on the way)Great-Great grandchildren include Adylyn Followell, Jaxson Followell and Nelly Grace Followell. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Name Church on Saturday, March 13 at 10:30. Graveside services at St. Louis Cemetery. Public visitation will be on Friday, March 12 from 4-7 pm at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.
