Albert Ray Lacer

Albert Ray Lacer, 88, of Spottsville, KY, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, KY.

Ray was born January 7, 1936, in Henderson, KY to the late Stanley and Eston Lacer. Ray retired from the Henderson County School System where he worked for over 40 years as a custodian and bus driver. Ray was part of the Spottsville Rotary Field Days tug of war for 51 years. He enjoyed playing at the Gathering Place. On the last day of Christmas break at the school, he would play for all of the kids during their lunch breaks. He was a Magistrate of District 1 from 2006-2010. Every year for the Fourth of July he would host the community at his house for fireworks and ice cream.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Lacer, Sherril Lacer; sisters, Edna Smithhart, Christine Duncan; daughters, Kathy Osborne, Karen Simpson, and granddaughter, Melanie Fulton.

Ray is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Lacer of Spottsville, KY; son, Jarrod Lacer of Evansville, IN; step daughter, Susie Stokes of Spottsville, KY; grandchildren, Cara Snellen, Christa Davis, Kayla Fox, Eli Vowels, Brad Nally, Mike Larue, Ashley Tanaka, Carrie Loveless, Brennan Bickwermert; brother, Alfred Lacer of Henderson, KY; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 13, 2024, 7:00 PM, at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 3:00 PM until service time
