Albert Dale "Riggs" Rigdon, Jr.

April 15, 1966 — July 4, 2018

Dale "Riggs" Rigdon Jr., passed away, Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 at Rudd Heart and Lung Hospital in Louisville, surrounded by friends and family.   Dale was a Super Fan of Kentucky Wildcats and Dallas Cowboys. He could never miss the chance to turn the TV up and scream as if he were on the sidelines coaching the game. He loved a house full of friends and family screaming alongside him (as long as you were cheering on the right team). He believed his superstitions won or lost the game and had no problem telling you at tourney time if you hadn't watched the prior winning game as a guest, you were not invited because of the jinx factor.    Dale was a Volunteer Coach. He enjoyed coaching Molly in softball, soccer and basketball. He was proud, loud and most happy when he was on the sidelines cheering on his team. He loved being with his lifelong friends, loved to make people laugh and aggravated everyone, especially the kids he coached. He spoke highly of his mother, who never missed a ballgame, whether he was the coach or the player.    Dale was only with us for 52 years and while he left us too soon, he lived most of his time as if every day was the last. We rejoice in the fact that we will one day be reunited with him in a place that finds him happy and once again healthy.    Dale was survived by 2 daughters: Molly Rigdon and Lacey Payne of Henderson, his mother and caregiver, Frankie Rigdon of Niagara, One sister, Tracey Shouse, and her husband Jason, One niece Jaley Shouse, Father Albert Dale Rigdon Sr of Webster County, several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.    Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday July 7, 2018 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Bro. Keith Griffin will officiate.   Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.   Visitation will be Friday 4-8PM and Saturday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.   Pallbearers will be Jeff Polivick, Jeff Bradley, Shane Hester, Brad Inge, Brian Pruitt, Tony Bullock, Jim Culver, Damon Winstead and Lamont Wilkes.
