Alfred Lee Lacer

Alfred Lee Lacer "Paps", age 84, of Henderson, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at his home after a long hard-fought battle with cancer surrounded by his family and under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.

Alfred was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion General Baptist Church. He proudly worked for Ironworkers Union Local 103 for 35 years and was a lifetime member. Alfred enjoyed watching University of Kentucky Basketball, Western movies, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to all the nurses and care givers for their kindness, care, and support for Alfred and family during his end-of-life journey.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Eston (Barnett) Lacer, his brothers; Norman Lacer, Wayne Lacer, Stanley "Bunch" Lacer, Ray Lacer, Sherrill Lacer, and sisters; Edna Smithhart, Christine Cobb, Marie Lacer, and grandchild Kynlie Sands.

Alfred is survived by his wife of 59 years, Martha Helen (Pryor) Lacer. He is also survived by the following loved ones: his daughters, Tamara "Sis" (Johnny) Denton, Starla (Jason) Sands, Vicki (Kenny) Li, and Angela (Tony) Chen; his grandchildren, Tristan Denton, Kasey Pirtle, Trace Denton, Blayne Sands, Greyson Sands, Austin Li, Grant Li, Amy Chen, Janice Chen, and Blake Chen; Sister-in-law Shirley Lacer. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Alfred's Life Celebration from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday with Reverend J.W. Haire officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Reed, Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be Jason Sands, Johnny Denton, Tristan Denton, Trace Denton, Blayne Sands, Greyson Sands, and Blake Chen.
