Alice Joann Smith, 84, of Henderson, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Linda E. White Hospice House and “slipped the surly bonds of Earth to touch the face of God”. Alice was born November 7, 1936 to the late Floyd and Eloise Jordan. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Henderson and loved to volunteer helping cook meals for others. She was a loving wife of 58 years and mother of two. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack Jordan and Billy Jordan; husband, Ray Smith; daughter, Vickie; and granddaughter, Kari. She is survived by her son, Mike Smith of Evansville; grandchildren, Alex Smith and Adam Smith of Evansville, and Eric Welden (Stacey) of Walton, KY; great grandsons, Matthew Welden and Josh Welden. The family would like to thank Alice’s closest friend and confidant, Teresa Hearon. Her love and friendship are immeasurable. Alice considered Teresa her second daughter. The family would also like to thank the staff of the Linda E. White Hospice House for their loving and respectful care Alice received while a patient there. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., July 14 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Jeff Ferguson officiating. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Linda E. White Hospice House or Susan G Komen for the Cure.
