Alice Ellen Tompkins

Alice Ellen (Sherretz) Tompkins, 89, went to her heavenly home early Monday, March 21, 2022. Alice was a strong woman of God who loved her family, especially her only Granddaughter, Jill. Alice and Jill were the closest and loved all their time together through the years. Alice was born in Mount Vernon, IN on March 4, 1933, to Roy and Alice (Roos) Sherretz. She was one of thirteen children. She is proceeded in death by her husband, CB Tompkins in 1992, her daughter Nancy Williams in 2016 and ten brothers and sisters over the years. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Julie (Don) Turner of Henderson, Ky, her granddaughter, Jill (Zach) Powers of Evansville, Indiana and her great grandson, Lincoln Powers of Evansville, Indiana. Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Duckworth, Barbara Chumley-Sider, and one brother, Bud Sherretz. Alice’s life touched many. Her greatest joy in life was teaching God’s word and how to study the Bible. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 25, 2022, at Tomblinson Funeral home in Henderson with Pastor Ron Austin officiating with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
