Alton Clayron Whitson

Alton C. Whitson, 87, of Henderson passed away Friday March 30, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh.  He was born in Cookeville, Tennessee on September 15, 1930 to the late Charlie B. and Nola Doyle (Clinton) Whitson.  Alton was a salesman for Ken’s Pump and Supply in the oil field supply industry, a member of Mason Lodge #9 and Henderson Shrine Club Rizpah Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Marjorie Caroline (Beck) Whitson, 1 brother Gerald Eugene Whitson and half-brother James Clinton. Survivors include his wife Betty Whitson, 2 children Vicki Kuhn and husband Brian of West Chester, Ohio, Mark Whitson and wife Allison of Henderson, 2 step-children Kenneth Dale Shouse and wife Amber of Sturgis, Timothy W. Shouse of Henderson, 2 brothers Charles Whitson of Colorado Springs, David Whitson of Oklahoma City, 1 sister Marilyn Redding of Evansville, 1 half-brother Royce Dean Clinton of Cookeville, Tennessee, 4 grandchildren Jacob Kuhn, Sarah Kuhn, Morgan Whitson, Maggie Whitson, 3 step-grandchildren Jessica Shouse, Jaxon Shouse, Brianna Duncan, 2 great-grandchildren Madilyn Bailey, Samuel Bailey, 2 step-great-grandchildren Hadley Duncan, Scarlett Duncan, several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday April 2, 2018 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Visitation will be Monday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
