Amy Mae Estes

Amy Mae (Williams) Estes, 91 of Henderson, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father at 12:00 AM Tuesday August 27, 2013. Amy was born to Effie and Delbert Williams of Slaughters, Kentucky on February 2, 1922. She was a lifelong member of New Hope General Baptist Church in Slaughters, Kentucky. She was a Sunday school teacher and the pianist for years. Amy was also an honorary member of Countryview General Baptist Church in Henderson. She was a seamstress for many people as well as a caregiver. She had worked at Whirlpool in Evansville, Atlas Tack Co., Dixie Lou Frock and C.B.S. Dress Factory. She belonged to the Fraternal Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Rev. James Williams and Delbert O. Williams, sister: Elberta Todd, Son-in-law: Douglas Nieumaen, Great-great-grandson: Nicholas Kellen, Step-children: Richard, Alfred and Hillard Williams and Lida William McElroy. She is survived by 2 children: Faye Estes Nieumaen Lorenza Delbert Estes I and wife Mary Stepchildren: Bob Williams and wife Carol Howard Williams Douglas Williams and wife Sara Connie Simpson and husband Duwayne Rodney Williams and wife Linda Grandchildren: Roxanne Kellen and husband Terry, Douglas Newman, Dawn Webb and husband Bobby, L.D. Estes II, Jeff Estes and wife Rhonda, Ulysses Estes and wife Carla, Delbert A. Estes I, and Crystal Melton and husband Sam 19 Great-grandchildren: Wayne Kellen, Shayne Kellen, Shelley Newman, Jonathan Newman, Bobby Webb III, Brandon Webb, Bryan Webb, Lacey Estes, Tori Estes, Sarah Robertson, Jacob Estes, Michael Estes, Skyler Estes, Alexandria Estes, Delbert Anthony Estes II, Tolbert Estes, Seth Melton, Weston Melton and Loren Melton. 13 Great-great grandchildren 18 Step-grandchildren 32 Step-great-grandchildren She also leaves precious nieces, nephews and many many dear friends. Services will be 11:00 AM Friday August 30, 2013 at Countryview General Baptist Church, 2067 Gregory Dr. Henderson. Rev. Gary Ashby, Bob Williams, Bro. Nathan Bones and Rev. Joey Todd will be officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. Visitation will be Thursday 4-8PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel and Friday 9:00 AM until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Douglas Newman, LD Estes II, Jeff Estes, Ulysses Estes, Delbert A. Estes I, Terry Kellen and Sam Melton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Howard, Douglas and Rodney Williams and Connie Simpson. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice or Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville.
