Angela (Powell) Hawkins

Angela (Powell) Hawkins, 66, of Henderson, KY, passed away, February 23, 2022, at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson after an 11-year battle with Alzheimers. She was born October 22, 1955, in Owensboro, KY and graduated from Benton High School in 1973. She graduated from Murray State University in 1976 with a BS in History and graduated from Western KY University in 1991 with a Master’s in Library Science. Angela was a librarian’s aide for several years at Jones Jaggers and Natcher Elementary Schools in Bowling Green, KY. She was the librarian at South Heights Elementary School in Henderson for 20 years, retiring in 2014. Angela is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Powell of Poole, KY. Survivors include her husband, Glenn Hawkins of Henderson; two sons, Allen Hawkins of Henderson and Ryan Hawkins of Louisville, KY; father, Roy Powell of Poole; and five grandchildren, Jenna, David, Maddox, Jessop, and Paisley. Services will be private for immediate family. Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson is entrusted with arrangements.
