Angelia Dreyhaupt

Angelia B. "Angie" Dreyhaupt, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on July 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on September 30, 1968, in Henderson, Kentucky, Angie was the beloved daughter of Charles Eugene "Butch" Branson and Judy Branson Combest.

Angie dedicated her life to caring for others. As the nurse at Spottsville Elementary School, she became much more than a healthcare provider-she was a trusted friend, a comforting presence, and a source of compassion for countless students, parents, and staff. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Angie knew she possessed one of the kindest souls. Her gentle spirit, unwavering compassion, genuine purity of heart, and infectious smile left an everlasting impression on everyone she met. Her legacy of kindness will continue to live on in the many lives she touched throughout the community.

Angie was blessed with friendships that began early in life and endured throughout the years. She treasured those lifelong relationships, and many of her happiest memories were made alongside the friends who walked beside her through every season of life.

One friendship that stood apart was the bond she shared with Denise Clark. Denise worked alongside Angie's father for nearly 30 years, and over time she and Angie formed a relationship that was far more than friendship-they became sisters by heart. They shared countless memories together over the years, and Denise was a constant source of strength, love, and unwavering support throughout Angie's life.

Angie was also a proud member of the "Fab 5," a close-knit group of childhood friends who remained inseparable throughout their lives. Their friendship was a testament to loyalty, laughter, and lasting love. One of their most cherished adventures was celebrating their 50th birthdays together with a memorable week in Hilton Head Island, creating memories they would treasure forever.

Throughout her nursing career, Angie formed another remarkable circle of friends. While working for OA, she developed an unbreakable bond with three incredible nurses who became like family. Together they celebrated life's joys, supported one another through its challenges, and created countless memories. Their friendship was built on love, trust, and selflessness-they were always willing to drop everything to be there for one another, a testament to the extraordinary bond they shared.

Outside of her profession, Angie found great joy in traveling with her beloved husband, Neil, on countless motorcycle adventures across the country. Together they created treasured memories alongside friends in the motorcycle community, embracing every journey and the lifelong friendships they made along the way. She also had a deep love for her cherished fur babies, who brought her comfort, companionship, and unconditional love throughout her life.

Above all else, Angie treasured her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring daughter, and proud grandmother. Her grandchildren were among her greatest joys, and she cherished every moment spent with them. The love she gave so freely to her family will forever remain in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Eugene "Butch" Branson; her grandparents, Charles W. Branson and Vivian Jean Branson; her grandparents, Trafford L. Book and Elsie Dean Book; her aunt and uncle, Trafford E. Book and Paula M. Book; her uncle, Don Book; and her aunt, Ann Branson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Neil Dreyhaupt; her mother, Judy Combest; her brother, Pearce Combest; her children, Casey Pruitt, Brittany Pruitt, and Erica Pruitt; her beloved grandchildren, Xander Pruitt, Abel Pruitt, Emmett Pruitt, and Orion Pruitt; her aunts and uncles, Danny and Julia Book, Janet and Don Pell, John Branson, Bruce and Pat Dockery, Marlin Branson, Mark and Heather Branson; and many loving cousins.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 3, 2026, at Tomblinson Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, caregivers, family members, and friends who walked alongside Angie throughout her courageous journey. Your love, compassion, and support brought comfort during life's most difficult moments.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the organizations that played an important role in Angie's care: St. Anthony's Hospice, Vanderbilt University/Ingram Cancer Center, American Center, and the American Lung Association.

Though cancer ultimately claimed her earthly body, it never conquered her spirit. Angie faced every challenge with grace, courage, and unwavering faith. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, love, and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her. While she will be deeply missed every day, her beautiful smile, gentle heart, and unconditional love will remain forever in the hearts of those blessed to have known her.
