Anthony W. Schneidewind, 89, Henderson, Ky formerly of Carpentersville, Il went to our Lord's eternal home on October 26, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. He was born on December 20, 1923 in Dundee, Il. The son of William and Lillian (Richardson) Schneidewind. Tony was a WWII veteran serving in the Army. He received an Honorable Discharge on October 4, 1945 and was decorated with the Purple Heart after being injured during the invasion of Normandy and being redeployed to the Battle of the Bulge. Tony was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Dundee. He married June Loechelt at the home of the bride's parents on August 23, 1946. Tony was a dedicated employee of Haeger Pottery in Dundee, Il for 37 years. He was also employed by Toastmaster for 11 years prior to his retirement and relocation to Henderson, KY. After enjoying a short amount of retirement, he went back to work as a member of the D & M family for 9 years in Henderson, KY. In addition to his loyal wife June, he is survived by a dedicated daughter and son-in-law Judith Lynn (Charles) Greenwald of Henderson, KY. Tony was blessed with 3 granddaughters and 6 great grandchildren. Shelly (Gary) Stover of Clarksville, OH, Gary Eugene III (Ges) and Alexis Lynn; Kim (Ken) Sweet of Hampshire IL, Kendall IIII; and Andrea Redmond of Elgin, Il, Cleo J, Caden, Chace. He is also survived by 2 sister-in-laws, Estelle Schneiderwind of WI and Mary Schneiderwind of TN and a brother-in-law Paul Loechelt of Il and several nieces and nephews. Many members of Tony's family awaited his arrival into his forever home and there is joyous celebration in the reunion of he and his brothers John, Curtis, and Vernon. To honor Tony and his family we invite you to join us for his life celebration on Tuesday October 29, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday October 30, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Moog officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until service time at the church on Wednesday. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Fairmont Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post 40 Honor Guard and Burial Detail. Pallbearers will include Judy & Charlie Greenwald, Shelly & Gary Stover, Ges Stover, Ken Sweet, Dennis Wicker, Bill Erkfitz and Charlie Ragan. We ask for a moment of celebration for this kind, gentle and loving man as we, his family, now share our best angel with all of you!
