Arnold Benner Culley, 88, of Henderson passed from death into life with his Lord at 3:40 AM on January 30, 2013. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Indiana on April 25, 1924 to Lawrence David and Cora Grace (Benner) Culley. He owned his own construction company and was also a farmer. Arnold was an Army WWII Veteran. He was a member for Zion Baptist Church for 47 years and was also a member of the American Legion Owen Dunn Post #5 in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Arnold moved his family from Michigan to begin a new venture on a farm in Henderson. That was 47 years ago. He was affectionately called the “Mayor” of Jones Brothers Rd. He enjoyed his time at the Gathering Place and served on the board. He had a great time when the senior Olympics began and managed to receive many medals, most of them gold! Arnold enjoyed teaching the men’s Sunday school class at Zion Baptist Church for 47 years. Arnold was a Deacon at Zion Baptist Church and served on many committees. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Audrey R. Culley 1 Daughter: Linda Francis and husband Bill of Henderson 2 Sons: Ronald Eugene Culley and wife Candy of Sun Valley, California David Culley of Henderson 7 Grandchildren: Bill Francis Jr. and wife Kristin of Robards Bradley Francis and wife Amy of Rhinelander, Wisconsin Ashley Lambert and husband Chad of Henderson Chad Culley and wife Ginny of Ankorage, Alaska Eric Culley and wife Courtney of Cardiff, California Joanna Burkholder and husband Cody of San Diego, California Janelle Culley of Portland, Oregon 13 Great-grandchildren: Nathan, Emily, Elisabeth, Anna, Julia, Rebecca, Kiah, Nolan, Malia, Karis, Celia, Aiden, Avery, Skye and Devon A celebration of life will be 3:00 PM Sunday February 3, 2013 at Zion Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Galloway and Rev. Jeff Coursey will officiate. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until service time on Sunday at the church. Military graveside rites will follow at Fairmont Cemetery conducted by American Legion Worsham Post 40 Burial Detail and Honor Guard. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Zion Baptist Church Building Fund or The Gathering Place. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Bean, Joe Thomas, Marlon Linzy, Buddy Pearcy, Robbie Williams: Representing Fielding Williams and Gene Gass.
