Arthur “Art” Damin, 74, of Corydon passed away Thursday July 20, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway.
He was born August 21, 1948 in Tell City, IN. He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Worsham Post 40. Art worked in construction for most of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Art enjoyed spending time at the river camp with his friends. He loved going to hang with friends at the Geneva Store for coffee. He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed his grandchildren and dog Itzy.
Art was preceded in death by his parents Julia and Joseph Damin; one brother Elden Early and one granddaughter Brittany Damin.
Surviors include his wife Charlene “Charlie” Damin of Corydon; daughter Erica Damin of Owensboro; son Derek Damin (Shauna) of Gallatin, TN; step-daughters Tresa Hamilton of Owensboro, Lisa Brown of Henderson; step-sons Troy Cross (Carol) of Niagra, Kenny Cross (Sharon) of Owensboro, Brian Purcell (Leslie) of Henderson; brother Tom Damin (Janet) of Tell City, IN; two sisters Irma Kavanaugh of Montgomery, IN, Alice Hutchstep (David) of Newberry, FL; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday July 26, 2023 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel with Bro. Donnie House officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery in Owensboro with military rites conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post 40 Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Derek Damin, Brian Purcell, Lisa Brown, Chris Smith, Zach Gish, Brandon Hall, Tim Redding and Jerry Pippin.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Wounded Warrior Project or Disabled American Veterans.
