Artie "Marie" Wilson

Mrs. Artie "Marie" Wilson (nee: Gibson), of Warrenton, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. She was born on September 19, 1929, in Tilden, KY to the late William Bryan and Annie Mae (nee: Mayberry) Gibson. Marie had reached the age of 95.

Marie was united in marriage to Jessie James Wilson on April 22, 1949. This union was blessed with two boys, Larry and Ron. She had a variety of jobs throughout her lifetime. She worked as a CNA, a pharmacy clerk, a convenience store manager, at Walmart and finally for the Warren County R III School district, where she retired. Marie loved to travel, and her favorite vacation spot was Vero Beach in Florida. She enjoyed trips with her sisters, her sister-in-law and her brother. She enjoyed doing crafts and being outdoors working in her garden and going fishing. While she liked to fish, she wasn't fond of skinning or scaling, so she was happy to pass that on to someone else. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her pies in her family. She would always try to make everyone's favorite pie, thus ending up with having several to pick from at family gatherings. Marie had a zest for life and loved to laugh. She loved spending time with her family. Her sons, and grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Marie Wilson was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jessie Wilson; her two sons, Larry Wilson and Ron Wilson; three sisters, Lola Hornick, Goldie Merchant and Agnes Phelps; three brothers, Marvin, Joe and Henry Gibson.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Kay Wilson; five grandchildren, Scott Wilson (Jennifer), Sheri Vogt (Brian), Alan Wilson (Laura), Jessica Sutton (Christopher), April Sutton (Charles); 10 great grandchildren, Brianna Franz (Ivan), Alex Vogt (Gabby), Chris Vogt (Madysen), Zach Wilson, Karissa Wilson, Annika Wilson, Rhyan Chappius, Maggie Wilson, Jessie Kaufamn, Wilson Kaufman; one great great-granddaughter, Collins Marie; one sister in law, Ruth Gibson; several nieces and nephews that she was especially close to; other relatives and many close family friends.

A visitation for Marie Wilson will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. An additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Tomblinson Funeral Homes, 325 1st Street, Henderson, KY 42420. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
