Augustus “Gus” Andrew Justice Sr., 74, beloved husband, father, and papaw, passed away peacefully at his home on September 30, 2025, under the compassionate care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Gus was born on October 8, 1950, in Henderson, Kentucky. On May 30th of this year, he and his devoted wife Debbie celebrated 44 years of marriage—a union marked by love, laughter, and unwavering commitment.
Together, Gus and Debbie raised a beautiful family, including four children; Augustus “Rusty” Justice and wife Candace, and their children Kyle Justice, Seth Justice, Austin Plake, Alyssa Justice, Kasen Justice, Ayden Justice, and Rhema Justice; Stacey Towery and husband Marquis, and their daughter Madalyn Burress; Monty Lewis and his children Casey (Stephanie) Lewis, Hunter Lewis, Kaylee Lewis, Jozilyn Lewis, and Avery Lewis; Danyel LaRue and husband Danny, and their children Drew (Whitney) Enlow and Haley (Matthew) Moore
Gus was also a proud great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his siblings Ernie (Rita) Justice, Dale (Sharon) Justice, and Vivian Blackford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling and Bessie Justice.
Gus retired from ADM (Super Sweet Feeds) after 34 years of dedicated service. In retirement, he pursued his passion for flooring work alongside his best friend, Kerry Carrier. A true outdoorsman, Gus loved hunting and fishing. He was a talented craftsman who found joy in leatherwork and woodworking, often creating pieces that reflected his care and skill.
Above all, Gus was a family man. He was endlessly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and nothing made him happier than spending time with them.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, KY, officiated by Brother Bret Eblen.
Gus will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
