Barbara Knight

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Knight, who departed this life peacefully on December 2, 2025, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center. Born on April 17, 1939, Barbara lived a rich and fulfilling life in Zion, where she became beloved by her family and friends.

A dedicated professional, Barbara retired from River Valley Behavior Center, where she served as an administrator in the office, contributing her knowledge and kindness to many over the years. She was a lifelong member of Zion Baptist Church, a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment to her community.

Barbara had a zest for life that was evident in her many passions; she enjoyed playing cards and dominos, often gathering with friends and family for spirited games. She found joy in simple pleasures, like sitting on her porch swing with her beloved dog and tending to her yard. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially delighting in the lives of the babies she loved to watch grow. Although she had no biological children of her own, she lovingly raised several, including Riley Priest, Paula Priest, Wendy Moats, and Brian Hallmark.

Barbara's heart was big, and her compassion knew no bounds. She is survived by her special buddies Lawson Schweikhard, Callahan Schweikhard, and Gwen Hallmark, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. She is now reunited in peace with her loving husband, Robert Knight, and her parents, James and Martha Patterson.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Zion Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until the service time at the church. A burial will be scheduled at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In this time of mourning, we invite all who knew and loved Barbara to gather and celebrate her remarkable life, remembering the warmth she brought into each heart she touched. Her spirit will remain forever in our memories.
