Barbara Jean Monsen On Friday, April 17, 2015, Barbara Monsen was called to her eternal rest after years of suffering from Acute Rheumatoid Arthritis. She will be received in heaven, to walk with God, and hand in hand with her life’s love and husband of 58 years, Terry Monsen, who passed away just last year. Barbara was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed and held forever in our hearts, nor will our memories ever fade. Barbara was a woman of remarkable, unshakable faith and devoted to the God she loved and to whom she gave all thanks. She was of the Lutheran Faith, and a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Henderson. She was retired from the Social Security Service, after 30 years of service. She leaves behind three children, who were raised in love and faith: One son, Randy Monsen of Henderson; and two daughters, Mary Monsen Toerne of Henderson and Wendy Monsen of Gainesville, Virginia. Barbara found another level of love in her heart with her Grandchildren; Lindsay Mabry, Charly Pate, Sam Monsen, Robert Monsen, Kelley Monsen, and Austin Thomas III. This love grew to an even deeper level in the births of her Great-Grandchildren, Carmine Pate, Camber Pate, Faye Leonard, and Graham Leonard. Visitation will be held at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Sunday, from 2PM – 6PM. Friends may also call Monday, 9AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Christian Burial service to begin at 10:30 AM, where close friend and Pastor Mark Moog will officiate. Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Terry. Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren Lindsay Mabry, Charly Pate, Sam Monsen, Robert Monsen, Kelley Monsen, and Austin Thomas III. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church.
