Barbara Murdach

Barbara Ann Murdach, 85, of Henderson, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson.

She was born June 1, 1938 in Carmi, Illinois, to the late Eleanor Carson.

Barbara retired after 25 years as office manager for Dr. A.D. Sprague in Henderson. After retirement, she worked several years for the Boston Red Sox organization at their spring training complex in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Henderson, where she attended Sunday School and worship services.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Garness.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 66 years, Leonard “Les” Murdach, 2 children, Lesle (Ed) Pietraniec of Evansville, Indiana, and Greg (Denise) Murdach of Henderson, Kentucky, 6 grandchildren, Nathan (Michelle) Courtney of St. Wendel, Indiana, Tim (Kelly) Pietraniec of Cleveland, Ohio, Andy (Maddie) Pietraniec of West Lafayette, Indiana, Zac Murdach and Nick Murdach, of Henderson and Jake Murdach of Louisville, Kentucky, and 4 great grandchildren, Grace, Reagan, Scarlett, and Addie.

A memorial service is scheduled for September 3rd at 2pm at Colonial Assisted Living Center on Adams Lane in Henderson.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
