Barbara Jean Pruitt

Barbara Jean “Miss B” Pruitt, 77 of Henderson, KY passed away at 7:10 AM Monday March 3, 2014 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson, KY. She was born in Robards, KY on September 24, 1936 to Emerson and Allyne (Mills) Overfield. She was a homemaker, a 50 year member Homemakers of Henderson County most of the time in the Town and Country Homemakers. Barbara was also a member of Audubon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard “Dick” Pruitt, Father: Emerson Overfield, Father in law: Miles H. Pruitt, Brother in law; Billy Neal Pruitt. Barbara is survived by a daughter; Darla Oliver of Henderson, KY Son; Terry Pruitt of Henderson, KY Mother; Allyne Pruitt of Henderson, KY Brother; Dale Overfield of Hopkinsville, KY Sister; Jo Nally of Henderson, KY 2 sister in laws; Carelton Weaver of Crowley, TX Hazel Hershey of Houston, TX Daughter in law; Mary Ann Pruitt of Henderson, KY Grandchildren; Leigh Ann Oliver, Ricky Oliver, Teresa Pruitt, Sarah Pruitt, and William Pruitt. Great Grandchildren: Bentlee Oliver, Teagan Pruitt, Zadok Pruitt and Kanin Mclean. Nieces and Nephews also survive. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday March 6, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Rev. Rodney Groff will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 and Thursday 10:00 AM until Service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Leigh Ann Oliver, Ricky Oliver, Teresa Pruitt, Sarah Pruitt, William Pruitt, Troy Overfield, Cory Edwards and Jennifer Darnell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Barbara Jean Pruitt Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
