Bessie Olene Jackson

Bessie Olene Messamore Jackson age 100 of St. Charles, KY, passed away at 10:50 A.M. Monday September 22, 2008, at Tradewater Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dawson Springs, KY. She was born October 10, 1907, in Christian County, KY, to Harvey and Ora (Lantrip) Messamore. She attended the Union Temple Baptist Church in St. Charles, KY, and she was a homemaker. In addition to her partents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rufus Jackson in 1997, one grandson, Christopher Mattingly, two brothers, Hershel Messamore and Neal Messamore, and two sisters, Ethel Lantrip and Maudie Terry. She is survived by three daughters: Mary Vandiver of Sturgis, KY, Linda Riley of Dawson Springs, KY, and Patsy Brown of Carbondale, KY, two sisters: Georgia Spainhoward of Earlington, KY, and Nancy Thompson of Crofton, KY, one brother: LeRoy Messamore of Ilsley, Ky, nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be a 2:00 P.M. Thursday September 25, 2008 at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY with Bro. Jimmy Moore and Bro. Jeff Winfrey officiating. Her burial will be in Lake Grove Cemetery in St. Charles, KY. Her visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday September 24, 2008 and from 9:00 A.M. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Brown, Troy Brown, Jeff Riley, Trent Riley, David Adamson, and Rodney Adamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Clifton Vandiver, L.D. Riley, Garland Brown, and Dennis McDaniel. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Temple General Baptist Church or to a Church of your choice.
