Betty Melton

Betty Tapp Melton, 83, of Hanson passed away Monday June 25, 2012 at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree. She was born June 6, 1929 in Union County to the late Alva an Lottie (Sutton) Tapp. She was a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Hanson, and a retired assistant Adult Education Coordinator for Hopkins County. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dorris Melton (1/17/2012). She is survived by 1 son: Joe Melton and his wife Lydia of Slaughters, KY 2 daughters: Kay Melton of Hanson, KY Pamela Melton Roberts of Madisonville, KY 5 grandchildren: Tim Melton, Terry Melton, Jason Overby, Krista Bunch, and Susan Lane Williams 9 great-grandchildren: Rayleigh Melton, Reagan Melton, Farris Melton, Lillie Melton, Evie Joy Bunch, Blaise Bunch, Tigerlily Bunch, Collin Howard, and Tucker Williams Graveside services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday June 27, 2012 at Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY with Bro Greg Gaddis officiating, Visitation will be 10:00 AM-12:00 PM Wednesday June 27, 2012 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel in Slaughters, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Hanson.
