Billie Lou Edwards

Billie Lou Edwards, 89 of Henderson passed away 11:43 AM, May 26, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 5, 1926 in Sebree, KY to Jewell LaTane and Eliza Jean (Seay) Edwards. He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and a WW II Navy Veteran. Billie was a retired heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineers Local #138, Hempstead, NY and a KY Colonel. He loved KY basketball, Robert Moses Beach on Long Island, Avid bird watcher, fisherman and all the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers; LaTane Edwards, Donnie Edwards and Sonny Edwards, 2 sisters; Jeanie Frasier and Gloria “Tootsie” Lykins. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Shirley (Moore) Edwards of Henderson 4 children: Terry Coleman and her husband Doug of Shady Grove, KY Kim Campbell and her husband Charlie of Sebree Allen Edwards and his wife Kerry of Calais, ME Kevin Edwards and his wife Debbie of Henderson 2 sisters: Bonnie Mason and her husband Jimmy of Henderson Cissy Wright and her husband Ronnie of OH Sister-in-law: Hilda Edwards of Sebree 7 Grandchildren: Jason Campbell, Ashley Giardinella, Mackenzie Dixon, Alex Edwards, Jennifer Love, Valerie Guinn and Jonathan Edwards. 4 step-grandchildren: Ginny Ginn, Nikki Coleman, Cassidy Hyde and Tanner Daugherty 8 great grandchildren Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday May 30 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel. Brother Johnny McCurry will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM Friday and 10:00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kevin Edwards, Allen Edwards, Charlie Campbell, Jason Campbell, Doug Coleman and Ron Alvey. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Worsham Post #40. A special thanks to his sitters; Doris, Amanda, Brittani and Joanna.
