Billy “Bill” Gene Franklin May 6, 1946 – June 12, 2017 While in a room overflowing with love, Billy Gene Franklin went to join the ones he loved that passed before him on June 12, 2017.He is survived by a loving family: his mother, Elsie Franklin; wife of over 32 years, Janice Franklin; children Lesa Moxley, Tina Green, Nathan O’Brien, and Jill Lyon; siblings Marie Russell (Steve), and Roy Franklin (Deby); grandchildren Brent Goebel (Hope), Leslie Tieken (Goebel), Michael Goebel (Jessica), Briana Green, Roni O’Brien, Rayn O’Brien, Caleb Rodriguez, and Avery O’Brein; great grandchildren Victor Goebel, Jada Green, and Jayden Green; and a large extended family.He was preceded in his passing by his father, Floyd Franklin; grandmother, Cora “Ma’am” Powell, uncle, Thomas Powell; grandson, Detri Green; and son, Richard Biggers.Bill was born on May 6, 1946 in Tennessee to Floyd and Elsie (Powell) Franklin. He spent most of his childhood in Evansville, Indiana and graduated from North High School. He spent many years working as a respected auto body mechanic and after retirement, delivered flowers for Shaw’s Flowers. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and loved ones. He seemed to have an ability to sense when his family needed him and was always there for them.Funeral service will be held on Thursday June 15, 2017 at 1:00PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Pastor Steve Dunbar officiating. Pallbearers will be John Russell, Steve Russell, Roy Franklin, Brent Goebel, Leslie Goebel (Michael), and Nathan O’Brien. Visitation will be held on Thursday 10:30AM-service time at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana.Expressions of sympathy can be taken in the form of contributions to American Cancer Society.
