Billy Hughes Wood

Billy Hughes Wood, 93, of Henderson, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Riverbend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Evansville. He was born in Greenville, KY on January 9, 1927 to the late Clayton and Nola Wood. He was retired from the National Guard and was a veteran of the Korean War. In addition, he served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Navy. He was a Mason and a member of Henderson First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma “Pat” Wood and brothers, Walter Wood and Herbert Wood. He is survived by his son, Gregory Wood of Houston, TX; stepdaughter, Phyllis Clark (Gary) of Fort Myers, FL; three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Graveside services are private at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
