Bobbie Bernice West, 93, Henderson, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at 6:24 AM Tuesday, October 30, 2012. She was born in Black Oak, AK on December 20, 1918. Bobbie grew up in St. Louis, MO. She married, had two children and lived with her family for 35 years in Evansville. In 1992, after being widowed, she established her residence in Henderson to be close to her daughter’s family. Bobbie’s claims to fame were her beautiful crocheted afghans and baby blankets and her mouth-watering chocolate chip cookies. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Clarissa Overman, her beloved husband of 50 years, John Sherman West, her son-in-law Dale Roland and her brother, George Overman, Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Clare Roland Overfield and her husband Landon of Henderson Son: Ronald Sherman West of Evansville 2 Grandsons: Jonathan Dale Roland and wife April of Henderson Christopher Kyle Roland of Prague, Czech Republic 2 Step-granddaughters: Angela Overfield of Henderson Bethany Overfield of Lexington Step-grandson: Neal Overfield and wife Rachel of Henderson 3 Great-grandchildren: Jada Roland and Jonathan Roland Jr. of Henderson Mason Roland of Sebree 3 Step-Great-Grandchildren: Ralynn and Noah Overfield, Nicholas Lee all of Henderson Sister-in-law: Joy Overman of Farminton, MO Nieces, Nephews, Great-nieces and nephews Visitation will be Saturday November 3, 2012 from Noon until 2PM at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home 800 N. Market St. Marion, IL Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Poordo, Illinois. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
