Bobby Gene Oglesby passed away peacefully in the home that he had built next to his beloved fireplace surrounded by those who loved him the most.
Bobby was born January 27, 1939, in Henderson, KY to parents, George Ella and Ruth Oglesby. He went to City High School, class of 1957 and then moved to study chemical engineering at Tennessee Tech. He graduated in 1962. He worked for PB&S Chemical, Windsor Plastics, and Faultless Caster. While employed there, he opened his own company, Hard Chrome.
Along with Bob’s successful career he married Mary Louise Scott on May 29, 1965. He was a deacon and life-long member of First Baptist Church in Henderson. Bob was a loving father to Carter Scott Oglesby and his wife Lori; grandfather to Shelby, Melanie (Mark), Larkin, and Carson.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; brother, Edward.
Bob is known for his love of antique cars, traveling, and his sarcastic humor. He was passionate about education and funded several scholarships.
Bob’s big heart led him to having bonus sons, Todd Stephens, Jaime Devault, Dale Trimble and Brad Lawalin.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 8, 2023, 1:00 PM, at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel with Rev. Alan Chamness officiating. A burial will follow at Fernwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 8, 2023, 10:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
