Bobby Dean Shanks

Bobby Dean Shanks, 83, of Sebree, passed away Wednesday January 23, 2019 at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. He was born on April 3, 1935 to the late Clarence and Lula Mae Shanks. Bobby enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially riding the kids around the farm on his golf cart.  He loved his Kentucky Wildcats and taking rides on his horse and buggy.  He was of the Pentecostal faith.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sue Shanks, 2 brothers William Harvey and Orville Ray Shanks and an infant brother Dewey Overton. Survivors include his 5 children Danny Shanks of Slaughters, DeAnn Wineinger and husband Ed of Jasper, IN, Darla Austin and husband Mike of Hanson, Randy Shanks and wife Violet of Sebree, LaDeana Stagner and husband Phil of Sebree, 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, nephew Eugene Shanks and wife Janie of Sacramento, KY, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel.  Rev. Thornton Stanley and Bro. Eddie Berry will officiate. Burial will be in Slaughters Cemetery.Visitation will be Friday 5-8PM and Saturday 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kevin Cartwright, Matt Cartwright, Eddie Wineinger, Braden Stagner, Kaden Austin and Damian Nole.  Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Austin and Erik Duncan. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Bobby’s funeral expenses C/O Tomblinson Funeral Home.
