Carl Raymond Brooks Jr. 60 of Meriden, KS formerly of Earlington, KY passed away Oct.21 2010 at 6:04 pm at Stormont Vail in Topeka, KS. He was born Dec. 11 1949 in Madisonville, KY to the late Carl Raymond Brooks Sr. and Betty McCulley Brooks. He was a member of the Meriden Community Church.. He was also owner and base singer for the Gloryland Quartet. He graduated in 1967 from Earlington High School and has a masters degree of Christian Long Term Care Administration form Trinity Institute Of Christian Counseling. He was a US Army veteran serving as a Lab Tech at Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu during the Vietnam Conflict. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company of Topeka. Survivors other than his mother are his wife of 31 years Barbara Lane Brooks, his sons Carl Wesley Brooks and his wife Christy, of Suthards, KY. Jeffery Wade Brooks and his wife Barbara, of Madisonville KY. Daughters Carla Brooks Butler and her husband Ryan of Auburn, KS. And Carrie Jane Brooks of Raleigh, NC. One sister Ruth Brooks Marshall and her husband Ronnie of Marion KY. and one brother George Brooks and his wife Christi of Earlington KY. Carl had seven grandchildren that he loved dearly, he also had several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Old Suthards Cemetary Perpetual Care and Maintenance fund c/o Kenneth Laffoon, 1916 Suthards Church Rd. Madisonville KY. 42431 Service will be at 11:00 am Monday Oct. 25th at Suthards Christian Church with burial in the Old Suthards Cemetary. Brother Brad Tucker and Brother George Edwin Brooks officiating. Visitation will be Sunday Oct 24th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Reid-Walters Funeral Home and also from 9:00 am to 10:30am on Monday
