Carl Edward Buckman

Carl Edward Buckman, 75, of Henderson, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024 at home.

He was born in Uniontown on November 16, 1948 to the late William E. and Martha J. (Harrington) Buckman.

Carl retired from Alliance Coal after 27 years and was a member of Henderson United Church of the Nazarene. He was a strong and caring man, devoted to his family, church community, and everyone around him, but above all, he cherished his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. He was a loyal UK fan and passionate old car enthusiast.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Buckman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Louise (Sowders) Buckman; daughter, Michelle Heath (Bill) of Henderson; grandchildren, Conner Heath, Carlie Shelton (Kelley), and Katie Jewell (Nick); great grandchildren, Harper Shelton and Heath Jewell; sister, Gladys Nobles of Henderson; several nieces and nephews; and grand-furbaby, Berklee.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Reverends Mark Ramsey and Keith Griffin officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday, September 9 from 3-7 p.m. and Tuesday, September 10 from 11 a.m. until service time.

Pallbearers will be Bill Heath, Nick Jewell, Kelley Shelton, Ronald “Bud” Majors, Kenneth LaPradd, and Wynn Stone.
