Carol Sue (Bridges) Qualls

Carol Sue (Bridges) Qualls, 70, of Henderson passed away on August 09, 2017 at Redbanks Nursing Home .  She was born on September 03, 1946 in Henderson to Earl Bridges, Sr. and Madge Robertson Bridges. Carol was a devoted Christian and long  time member of Immanuel Baptist Temple before joining First Baptist Church of Henderson and a member of the Son Riser Sunday School Class. She volunteered at Christian  Community Outreach where she served on the board.  She loved reading, playing cards with her co-workers, landscaping, bible study, and gospel music.  Carol retired from Whirlpool after 31 years, where she began at a entry level and progressed through to a management position.  She returned after retirement and worked on various projects as consultant when needed.  She was a graduate of Henderson County High School and Henderson Community College where she received an associate degree. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Earl Bridges, Jr and James Bridges, sister, Marie Bridges Royster.Survivors include2 sisters, Dorothy Bridges Powell of Little Dixie,KY Mary (Lewis R.)Cheaney of Hebbardsville,KY; 3 brothers, William “Bill” (Jerri) Bridges of Henderson,KY, Jerry (Sally)Bridges of Vienna, VA and Ralph (Faye) Bridges of Henderson, KY. Godmother of Great Niece Ann McLain Bridges of Richmond, VA.  Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Great-Great Nieces and Nephews.Services will be Saturday, August 12 at 10:30AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Tim Shockley officiating.  Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery .  Visitation will be Friday, August 11, 4:00PM-8:00PM and Saturday 8:00AM until service time at the funeral home.Pallbearers will be Donald Bridges, Steven Bridges, Bill Bridges, Jr, Ben Cheaney, Darrell Powell, Ronald Powell.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Christian Community Outreach, First Baptist Church and St. Anthony’s Hospice.  Online condolences may be made at www.tomblinsonfuneralhome.com .
