Carvel Leo Powell

Carel Leo Powell, 90 of Sebree, KY passed away at 5:00 PM Monday December 5, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Union County, KY on January 15, 1921. He spent most of his life in Webster County and was a resident of the Petersburg Community. He was a retired cattle and grain farmer and a school bus driver for Webster County for 35 years. He also worked for the Webster County Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service in Dixon, KY for 20 years. He was a member of the Sebree Mission. He loved his church very much. He was preceded in death by a son Randy Powell, his parents, Noah and Virgie Powell, brothers Eugene Powell and Paul Houston Powell, and sister Gracie Powell. His is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Evelyn Powell, daughter Ann Chandler and her husband Donald of Sebree, son Donnie Powell of Robards, 3 grandchildren LeAnn Alstadt and her husband J.J. of Sebree, Monica Duncan and her husband Tim of Dixon, and Jeff Powell of Sebree, and 8 Great Grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and great grandfather and will be greatly missed. Service will be 1:00 PM Thursday December 8, 2011 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel with Bro. Mark Compton and Bro. Thornton Stanley officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 PM Wednesday December 7 and 9:00 AM-until service time Thursday December 8 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Donald Chandler, Donnie Powell, Jeff Powell, Tim Duncan, J.J. Alstady, Keith Tapp, Jaiden Powell and Roger Williams.
