Cash Andrew Steven O'Nan, 17, was freed from the chains of substance use and mental illness by his Lord on October 17, 2022.
Cash was born in Henderson, KY on November 1, 2004. He is the son of Steve and Gialene O'Nan and brother to Darby and Teriana O'Nan and Lori Priest. He was supported and loved by his immediate family, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a niece and nephew. If anyone thinks it can't happen to them, read on.
Cash was the baby of the family. His parents and big sisters enjoyed his humor and watching him play sports when he was young. More recently, they admired his talent for woodcarving and his ability as an artist, but the frustrations of mental illness often overshadowed these traits. While he fought the struggles of adolescents and sought acceptance from peers, he was an intelligent young man with a big heart and beloved by his family. He was baptized into the fellowship of Corydon Missionary Baptist Church on March 25, 2012.
Cash is survived by his parents, Steve and Gialene O'Nan, three sisters Darby O'Nan, Teriana O' Nan, and Lori Priest (Neal), one nephew, River Priest, one niece, Kally Priest, aunts and uncles, Rick O'Daniel (Helen), Jana Phelps, and Brent O'Daniel (Kim), Troy O'Nan, Gary O'Nan, Benjie O'Nan, Ozzie O'Nan, and cousins.
Our family's prayer is that others know this path is destructive, and we encourage anyone on it to get the appropriate help.
