Charles Emerson Batts, 86 of Sebree, KY passed away on Sunday October 5, 2025 at his residence surrounded by family, under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
He was born in Webster County, KY on June 30, 1939 to the late J. T. and Zala (Cissna) Batts.
Charles was a member of the Onton United Methodist Church. He retired in 2003 from Venture Plastics where he served as transportation and warehouse manager. He had also served as steward for the Teamsters Union at Mclean Trucking. In 1961 he was called to active duty with the Kentucky National Guard where he spent a year in Ft. Knox. He was also an Eagle Scout, Scout leader and a Kentucky Colonel. Charles loved and was loved by his family and friends. He loved the Lord and lived his faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his 1St wife Alice (Ranes) Batts, Daughter Kimberly Batts and a sister, Mildred Wright.
He is survived by his wife; Peggy Adcock Batts. Son; Brodrick Batts of Sebree, KY. Daughter; Stacie Webster and husband Todd of New Cumberland, WV. 2 grandchildren; Jacob Joiner of Sebree, KY and Amber Geffert and husband Joe of Robards, KY. 2 great grandchildren; Jaide Tapp and Tine Joiner. Nephews also survive.
The family would like to thank his caretakers whom he dearly loved; Amanda Buchanan, Lisa Thompson and Lauren Jackson and the entire staff of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday October 8th at Sassafras Grove Cemetery near Onton, KY.
Pastor Marty Robertson will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Brodrick Batts, Jacob Joiner, Amber Geffert, Tine Joiner, Todd Webster, Bo Boles, Randall Boles and Kirby Townsend.
