Charles C. Gibson, Jr., 85 of Henderson passed away Wednesday May 29, 2013 at Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born on September 15, 1927 in Henderson to the late Charles Crosby Gibson Sr. and Irma (Chandler) Gibson. Charles was a World War II Navy Veteran serving with the U.D.T. in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Jerusalem Lodge #9 for 50 years and a charter member of the West Kentucky Scottish Rite Valley of Madisonville. He was also a member of Rizpah Shrine Temple, Past Commander of The Legion of Honor in 1990 and a Kentucky Colonel. Charles was retired from Municipal Power and Light. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Q. Gibson who passed away April 8, 2002. He is survived by a daughter: Sondra Jo “Sandy” Kirtz of Henderson 2 Grandchildren: Dani O’Brien of Lexington Shane O’Brien of Montana 2 Brothers: Dorris Gibson and wife Mary of Henderson Ronald Gibson and wife Linda of Sorgho, KY Faithful companion Jake Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday May 31, 2013 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Gary Bell and Dr. Hollis Marshall will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday 4-8PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice. The family would like to give a very special thank you to Dr. Futrell.
