Charles (Chuck) Johnson, age 81, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on July 14th after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Chuck was born in Westville, IN on Dec 13, 1940 to Charles and Effie Brown Johnson. Chuck joined the Navy at the age of 19, served for five and a half years where he began his 52 years in Aviation mechanics. After discharge in 1967, he attended Embry Riddle University and later achieved an Associate Degree at age 60 in Aviation Technology. He is survived by his wife Paula Darr Johnson; daughter Alissa (Ben) Wooded and son Samuel; son, Tyree (Lisa) Johnson and daughters, Katlyn and Anna and 2 great grandchildren, Mason and Izzy; many nieces, nephews and many extended Darr family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Effie Johnson; brothers, Lester Barnard, Bobby Johnson, Billy Johnson and sister Mary Jane Hare. In addition to teaching mechanics for 15 years, he taught Sunday school at Good Shepard United Methodist in Memphis. He was a kind and gentle soul, an avid NASCAR and Indy car fan, fisherman, an amateur golfer, and a lover of animals. His cat Charlie will miss him terribly. There will be a public viewing at 10:00 AM with funeral to follow at 12:00 PM at Tomblnson Funeral Home in Sebree, KY on July 29th. Internment at Springdale Cemetery.
