Charles Edward Lambdin, 95, of Sebree, KY passed away Sunday January 11, 2026 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY.
Loving father to Sherry Davenport and Chuck Lambdin, beloved grandfather to Sabrina Davenport and her husband Michael, and Kaitlyn Hillebrand, adoring great grandfather of Sabrina and Michaels children Charlie and Eli. Step daughters Teresa Coomes and Debbie Farmer, sister in law Carolyn Lambdin, and nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; George Hart and Lillian (Jennings) Lambdin, wife; Rosie May Lambdin, sister; Margaret Ann Lambdin and 3 brothers; George Hart Lambdin, Jr, Albert “Happy” Lambdin and Bill Powell.
Charles Edward was the consummate family man, Renaissance man, hard worker, nature lover, and model of humanity. In the 1950’s, he served his country with great honor in the United States Army and was a highly decorated Korean War veteran. Thereafter, he was a talented engineer for many years with the Whirlpool Corporation.
He spent his free time teaching, learning, volunteering, fishing and painting. He was an active and adored member of the Free Masons. He loved nature, the water, and animals. He was a top tier angler and a principled hunter. He could find a four-leaf clover in any yard. An avid student of history, he collected rare antiques. He was a highly skilled craftsman and painter whose work was displayed at various financial institutions. He gave back in various ways, including through his philanthropic work for veterans and for the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs. A hero to his family and his country, he will be sorely missed.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday January 16, 2026 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel.
Chaplin Nick Duval will officiate.
Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree with full military honors conducted by American Legion Worsham Post 40 of Henderson.
Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until service time at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be conducted at 12:30 by the Bailey-Onton Masonic Lodge.
