Charles Waller Long

Charles Waller "Rab" Long, 79 of Suthards, KY passed away at 10:45 AM Monday July 28, 2008 at his home. He was born in St Charles, KY on December 16, 1928 to the late Charlie Dennis and Lena Verble (Crook) Long. He was a member of the Suthards Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a Korean War Veteran. He was retired from Island Creek Coal Company after 29 1/2 years of service. He was also a member of the N. H. Shaw Masonic Lodge #608 in Nortonville, KY In addition to his parents her was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Opal Swett and Hilda Barnes, 2 nephews; Dennis Barnes and Mike Fenwick and a great nephew Chris Gary. He is survived by 2 sisters; Faye (Phillip) Grable of Dawson Springs, KY Sue Fenwick of Henderson, KY Brother; Dennis Wayne (Wanda) Long of Dawson Springs, KY Several Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews also survive. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday July 31, 2008 at the Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY Bro. George Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow in Old Suthards Cemetery with full military rites. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 and Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Nathan Miller, Nathaniel Miller, Danny Miller, Brian Miller, Nicholas Long and Cody Ferrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Huddleston, Wendell Jones, Charlie Jones, Curtis Brown and Robert Green. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
