Charles Basil Oldham Jr., 91, of Henderson passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, under the care of PIH Health Hospice, Whittier, California. He was born November 28, 1930, in Madisonville, Kentucky to the late Eula Mattie McGuire and Charles Basil Oldham Sr. Charles worked for George Koch & Sons in Evansville, Indiana, for 40 years in accounting for the air conditioning unit. He served in the U.S. Navy after high school during the Korean War. Afterwards he married his sweetheart Wilma Jeanette Barrow and settled in Henderson for the last 62 years. Charles was an avid UK Basketball fan, loved playing golf and bowling, and was active on leagues for Koch & Sons. In his later years he enjoyed searching out treasures at flea markets, travelling to be with daughter Carolyn, taking care of his cars and tending to his beloved lawn, flowers, irises, lilies, and apple trees. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Norma Naas, Judy Brown, Patsy Mattingly, and Betty Bates, and by a niece, Bonny Bates Smith, and nephew David Wayne Brown. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Jeanette, daughter Carolyn, her partner Michael Lee, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson, February 19th, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Eric Hoey officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at Tomlinson Funeral Home. Interment will take place on a later date at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Presbyterian Church, Henderson, Kentucky.
