Charles Thorpe Payne

Charles Thorpe Payne, 71 of Slaughters passed away at 9:50 A.M. Saturday November 15, 2008 at his residence. He was born September 2, 1937 in Webster County, KY to Thorpe and Virginia (Ward) Payne. He was a member, a deacon, and a Sunday school teacher at Slaughters Baptist Church, a Master Gardener, a member of Slaughters Masonic Lodge and a member of Gideons International. He was also a Lab Analyst with TVA. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sue Payne, 2 sons Tony Payne, Michael Payne, 1 sister Carolyn Bellamy and 1 brother Danny Payne. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be ll:00 A.M. Tuesday November 18, 2008 at Slaughters Baptist Church. Bro. Bill Crabtree will officiate with Bro. Brad Rogers assisting. Visitation will be 4-8 Monday November 17 and 9-until service time Tuesday November 18 at the church. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Slaughters Baptist Church.
