Charles Judson Pomeroy, 77, of Henderson, Ky. passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at his home. “Jud” was born in Versailles, Ky. and he served 26 years active duty in the Army retiring as Lt. Col. He spent two tours in Vietnam and had assignments including Shape, Belgium, Jusmat, Turkey and many stateside posts. After retiring from the Army Jud worked as Director of Vocational and Academic Traing at Atterbury Job corps Center, Edinburg, IN and Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center, Morganfield, Ky. He then became a program director at GRADD, Owensboro Ky. He was member of the First United Methodist Church. When he was in good health he loved working in his yard, working with wood, and enjoyed his time as a Kids Hope Mentor at Bend Gate School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles M. Pomeroy and Henrietta Cotton Pomeroy.He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary Helmuth Pomeroy; daughter, Dr. Marnie L. Pomeroy of Fayetteville, AK.; Brothers Marcus Pomeroy and his wife (Linda) of Berwyn, PA., Gregory Pomeroy and his wife (Nancy) of Pleasant Hill, MO., a sister Marcia Pomeroy ( Michael Toombs) of Kansas City, KS and nieces and nephews. Services will be 10:30 A.M Monday May 07, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Henderson Ky. Visitation will be 9:30 A.M until service time at the church.
