Charles "Charlie" Ray Smith

Charles "Charlie" Ray Smith, 59, of Henderson, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at his home.

He was born in Madisonville, KY on November 4, 1963 to Uel O'Leary and Wilma Smith.

He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His first job was with Fred Eastwood laying tobacco sticks at the age of eight. He then worked for Tompkins Funeral Home and Monument Co. for many years. Other jobs include Kendall Drilling, Gibbs Die Casting (8 years) and working in construction. His last job was at Rhine River Farms.

He was preceded in death by one son, Clayton Smith; his father, Uel O'Leary; a brother, Jerry Smith; and grandparents, Clate and Effie Smith, as well as his mentor, "Papa Paul" Tompkins.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Smith of 38 years; sons, Joshua Smith of Henderson, KY and Cody Smith of Henderson, KY; mother, Wilma Smith of Sebree, KY; mother-in-law, Nellie Pruitt (David Morris) of Henderson, KY; sister, Kathy Jones (Tom) of Congleton, KY; brother, Dewayne Smith (Karenetta) of Sebree, KY; brother, Billy Smith (Jennifer) of Sebree, KY; grandchildren, Xavia Smith, McKale Smith, Zaden Smith, Karizma Homer, Kyler Smith, Gabriel Smith, Jayden Hernandez, Savonna Hernandez, Keegan Smith and Anabella Smith; one great grandchild, Khelyn Williams; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, KY with Bro. Thornton Stanley officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Smith, McKale Smith, Zaden Smith, Morgan Jones, Kyle Smith, and Frankie Springfield.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Robert Pruitt.
